Without funds for a field trip, CPS teacher brought the pumpkin patch to her students
CHICAGO — CPS Pre-K teacher, Angela Clark decided that since her students couldn’t afford a field trip to the pumpkin patch, she brought the pumpkin patch to them.
When publicist, LaDonna Raeh got wind of Clark’s dilemma, she put her PR hat on and contacted sponsors. After submitting the sponsorship letters, she began calling pumpkin patches in the area to follow up. Konows Corn Maze accepted and gave more than was originally asked! Of course LaDonna Raeh contacted WGN’s Marcus LeShock for coverage of a “feel good” story.
The donations were all picked up and brought back to the school. With the help of the staff and plenty of volunteer parents, Ms. Clark spent the Friday morning before Halloween turning the school’s playground into their very own pumpkin patch.
